OPA! of Greece Abbotsford Village: Reviews & Ratings
The food here is consistent. The portions aren't the biggest for what you pay but the food is good. I usually get the platter for 2 for me and my girlfriend.
To order one has to view the electronic menu board, place an order, and bring the entrees to the table as there is no waitstaff. There was plenty of comfortable seating. My husband and I each ordered the Opa Platter (chicken souvlaki, rice, potato, Greek salad, pita wedges and tzatziki). The chicken was tasty but a bit dry. The salad was excellent. The pita triangles were very greasy and there was a fair amount of salt on them too. I brushed off the salt and wrapped each pita in a paper napkin. After a few minutes each of the 4 triangles had produced oily stains on both side of the napkin. In fact they were soaked. I then wrapped all 4 pieces in fresh napkins and found the oiliness much reduced. I like the herbs on the outside, just not all the salt and oil. It was nice dipped in the tzatziki sauce which was excellent. Overall the food quality was good, but carb overload with bread, potato and rice. I would definitely make a different choice next time.
Today I ordered lunch for takeout from OPA! Overall, the food was pretty good. The only thing I would've changed would be to have a bit more caesar salad dressing - it was a bit on the dry side for my liking. I had the Mega Platter with a skewer of beef and another of chicken. It was all very tasty!
This OPA! location is good.. looks like its pretty new.. Had couple take out orders to take back to the hotel. The Souvlaki was very good and I like their fresh salads. The Greek and the Caesar salads were crisp and good.. Great Take-out food.

OPA! of Greece Abbotsford Village invites diners to experience authentic Greek flavors in a casual, modern setting. Located conveniently at 2070 Sumas Way in Abbotsford, BC, this eatery balances traditional Mediterranean ingredients with straightforward service, allowing guests to focus on the food itself. The absence of waitstaff encourages a relaxed, self-paced dining rhythm, where ordering via electronic menu boards keeps the experience efficient.
The star of the menu seems to be the platters, particularly the Opa Platter and the Mega Platter, which combine classic Greek staples like chicken and beef souvlaki, rice, potatoes, fresh Greek salad, pita wedges, and tzatziki sauce. These dishes showcase the kitchen’s commitment to authenticity. The chicken souvlaki delivers well-seasoned, rustic charm, though some may find it slightly dry. Meanwhile, the fresh salads—both Greek and Caesar—stand out for their crispness and balance, offering a bright counterpoint to the heartier components.
However, the pita wedges, while aromatic with herbs, tend to be overly oily and salted, which can overwhelm the palate. This detail highlights the kitchen’s earnest attempt to infuse flavor, even if the execution might benefit from subtle refinement. The tzatziki sauce shines in contrast—creamy, tangy, and fresh—providing a perfect dip that elevates the entire platter.
Portion sizes are moderate, encouraging sharing—ideal for couples or small groups seeking variety without excess. The carb-heavy profile, combining bread, rice, and potatoes, suggests a hearty meal, best balanced with the vibrant salads. Takeout is well-received here, making OPA! a solid choice for flavorful Greek fare on the go or casual dining within its comfortable seating area.
In summary, OPA! of Greece Abbotsford Village delivers a dependable, authentic Greek dining experience. It impresses with fresh salads, traditional souvlaki, and a no-frills approach that lets the ingredients shine. While there is room for minor tweaks in execution, the overall quality captures the essence of Greek comfort food, making it a noteworthy stop for those craving Mediterranean flavors in Abbotsford.
